Our week 8th January - Linmere

Welcome back! Believe it or not we are now in the spring term. It was lovely to see everyone back this week and to hear all about their Christmas break. May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your cards and gifts.

The children have settled back into the routine of the school day well and have shown a positive attitude to their learning this week.

For this half term we are lucky enough to have Sale Sharks come in and do some rugby coaching with us. PE this half term will therefore be on a Monday rather than a Thursday so please ensure that all PE kits are in school at the beginning of the week.

For the first couple of weeks we will be continuing with our topic of Earth Matters. These last weeks we will focus on earthquakes. Next week we will be creating our own seismographs, please could you save and bring in any used, clean tin cans.

Our maths work this week centred on multiplication – using both the expanded and shorter, formal methods. Please continue to practice the times tables at home, it really does make a difference.

In English we began the term with some poetry. The children have worked hard learning and performing poetry as well as discussing rhythm and rhyme.
