February at last! 

Another busy and fun filled week in Sandymere.

Art – We continued exploring watercolours using the wet on dry technique and the wet on wet technique. Painting is certainly a popular activity in our class.

Science – We began by using flashback learning to sort animals into the following groups: mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and fish. Then we started to look at the features of the animals in each of the groups and investigated the question, Are all birds exactly the same? Can your child tell you what they found out?

English – Our new book is called the Lion Inside by the author Rachel Bright. We have been thinking about authors and working hard to remember the authors of the books we have read in school. It would be wonderful if you could support this at home and talk about who has written their favourite stories that you share at home.

PE – Our gymnastics this week was about exploring point and patches to create different balances. We then worked with a partner to create a short sequence. We will be developing this again next week and showing each other our performances.
