Sandymere's Class Blog 13.10.23

Date: 13th Oct 2023 @ 2:13pm

What a wet few days we've had to end this week. Fingers crossed it clears up so you can get out and about at the weekend.

What have we been learning about this week? Here is a snapshot of some of our learning this week:

  • In English, we have finished our work on last and found and written our own stories. Can your child can tell you what their story is about? You will get to read it for yourself our pupil consultations next week.
  • Our work in maths has started to look at addition of numbers up to 10. We met Annie Add and learned a song to help us explain what addition means.
  • In RE this week we have been retelling the story of Adam and Eve. All the children had a different part to play in acting out the story.
  • In science, we focused on which materials would be good for making a bridge. We talked about the properties that these materials have.

Nursery Rhyme of the Week – I Hear Thunder (To link in with our learning about the weather in our Geography lessons) I hear thunder (sung by Andy Day) - BBC Teach

Today we had school photographs and flu immunisations. If your child had their flu spray they should be wearing a sticker. If they didn’t have it they will have a letter inviting you to book this separately should you wish to do so.

We are looking forward to seeing who has made it to the first challenge on the Readopoly board when we check reading diaries on Monday.

We hope you have a restful weekend
