11.6.17 Sandymere Learning Update
Date: 11th Jun 2017 @ 6:20pm
Apologies for the delay in this blog! It’s end of year report writing season and we have had our head in the books.
So – this week we began to write our own version of Goldilocks with our version called Goldilocks and just the one badger. The children are doing well and will be finishing their stories next week. We will be looking for use of basic skills, neat handwriting and a sprinkle of imagination!
We have spent HUGE amounts of time practising our phonics ready for the screening test which will take place during the mornings of Monday 12th June – Wednesday 14th June. The children have decoded alien words and real words, they’ve created their own words and even challenged me! Your child was given homework to revise this too. May we emphasise again that your child is more than ready to take the test. Mrs Williamson will be completing the testing with each child 1:1. Mrs Jones will be in for the mornings.
In other areas we have begun to look at Judaism and discussed the similarities and differences between Judaism and Christianity in RE. We have continued to use the LearnPads this week to support our revision of phoneme/grapheme correspondences. Mrs Smith enjoyed taking the class on the field for PE and Mrs Jones has been busy completing rainforest art with the class.
See you all tomorrow.
