Head Teacher Blog: Friday 14th September 2018

Date: 14th Sep 2018 @ 7:47am

This week we have been thinking about respect as a school. We have looked at the roles that people play in society and the importance of them at whatever level they are and whoever they are. We have looked at the role of tax collectors in the Bible and the story of the Good Samaritan to reinforce this theme. Furthermore, we looked at a story called ‘That’s NOT how you do it!’ by Ariane Hofmann-Maniyar to see how, just because others may do things differently to us, it doesn’t mean they are wrong and we should respect the way that they do things. Please chat to your child at home about what we have been doing around respect – one of the core Christian Values of our school.

A number of children have been to me to share their good work this week – I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing their wonderful work, hearing about what they have been doing and seeing how well they are responding to the teacher’s activities – we are in for a good year!

Secondary School Applications

For those parents with children in Year 6, the secondary school applications process has now begun for September 2019. Please visit CWAC School Admissions to begin your application. Having just completed it on Wednesday night for my own daughter, it doesn’t take too long. The application round is open until 31st October and I would strongly urge that you get your application form in before this date, otherwise it becomes a late application and may not get equal preference as other applications. As a primary school, we are partnered with Winsford Academy and Hartford CE High School, but parents are able to choose up to three preferences on the form.

Reception Places September 2019

If children have any siblings due to start school next September, or you know of anyone with children who will be school age, this applications process also opened on 1st September. Please visit the website above to complete your application as well. Parents have slightly longer for this process, which closes on 15th January 2019.

Mid-day Assistant Vacancy

We are currently advertising for a Mid-day Assistant to join our hardworking team on a Friday, as well as being available to cover for staff absence. Please see the notice board in the playground for more details and application forms are available from the school office. The closing date for applications is Monday 1th September at 12pm.
