15.3.19 Sandymere Learning Update

Date: 15th Mar 2019 @ 3:22pm

What a wonderful week we have had. This  week we began to look at timelines of transport on history and then The Wright Brothers and their first flight. The children have produced some fantastic timelines showing their understanding of chronology and also worked hard to find out facts about The Wright Brothers them selves.  These facts have now been used to create information leaflets in English lessons. Well done Sandymere children!

in maths we have been working with numbers to 50. We have explored what each digit means using a range of practical resources including Base 10. We then looked at completing number tracks by filling in missing numbers.

In phonics we have continued to sound button words in order to sound out the phonemes. The children are doing really well but would benefit from lots of practise too. Look out for opportunities to decode when reading worth your child. Please make sure your child is reading regularly at home too.

Mrs Winder has a wonderful time exploring dance again this week and is really pleased with the children’s progress.

That’s all for this week.

see you on Monday.
