Over St. John's CE Primary School16.11.18 Poetry in Oakmere

Over the last two weeks Oakmere have been investigating different styles of poetry.
To start with, we looked at descriptive poetry and used the book 'Where the Poppies now Grow' to help us to develop our descriptive language. Using the events surrounding the commemoration of the end of World War One, we created our own Remembrance poems.
In music with Mrs Winder, we looked at how beat, rhythm and pitch could help with the performance of a poem.
Finally we looked at the 'Sound Collector' poem by Michael Rosen and after taking a sound walk around the school we created our own class poem.
