20.6.19 Sandymere Learning Update
Date: 20th Jun 2019 @ 3:19pm
Well it’s been another busy and exciting week this week. We began the week with an assembly on the fundamental British Values - we practiced our British Values song and reviewed when and where we might use or observe them in action. Also this week is Refugee Week and we have spent time learning what a Refugee is and how we would feel if we were a Refugee ourselves. The children I Sandymere showed great sensitivity and made thoughtful and well considered contributions to our class discussions. They really enjoyed sharing the story ‘A wisp of hope’ too.
In maths this week we have continued to look at mass and have explored heavier and lighter using the balance scales. The class are beginning to make great predictions about the weight of objects and compare weight too.
in English we have written a recount of our trip to Delamere Forest using language such as first, next, after that to order the events of the day. Some children wrote with great stamina and managed to write quite a lot! Well done children.
In PE Mrs Pile has had the children practising for sports day which was sadly cancelled due the weather.Don’t worry ah alternative date has been made and is on the school calendar.
In art we have competed our woodland collages making good use of mixed media to create a textured image. Some are quite stunning!
Another lovely week .
See you on Monday.
