On Friday Blakemere had a great Maths Day solving problems using Maths in the real world.
In the morning, we planned our budget for the Year 6 Social. We never realised how much maths went in to planning an event like this. Our first task was to list all the items we would need to buy and to work out how much we would need to buy. We had to make sure everryone would have enough cake! Once the list was made we had to cost it out.
In the afternoon, welooked at some of the Maths involved in the World Cup. We looked at group tables and how they worked, facts about the England team and wrote our own questions to investigate and puzzles around the World Cup logo.
It was a great day. We would really like to thank you to all the parents that came to visit us.
