27.6.19 Sandymere Learning Update

Hello - what a lovely sunny day it is!  Now it is really starting to feel like summer and with the summer fair on Friday the sunny weather is perfectly timed.

This week is Enterprise week and in Sandymere class we have been working hard on creating our own business and business plan.  Sandymere are manufacturing toy snakes in their very own Build - a - Snake Workshop.  We have been stuffing and fixing and decorating the snakes all week!  Each snake has it's own loving heart inside and is also named .  We have Sidney and Sally and Selina to name but a few!  The children have made posters advertising the snakes and have agreed to sell them for just £1 each!  They really are fabulous toys.  Come along to our stall after school on Friday and take a look.

Also this week we have ben working on position and direction in maths and geography.  We  have been using a wide range of vocabulary to work out the position of objects, buildings and ourselves!  This is something you could practise at home too  e.g - put the teddy between the doll and the cushion, place the fork to the left of the plate.

In English we are back on to Goldilocks and the three bears and started to consider the thoughts and feelings of baby bear in the story.  This week we have started to lookat a new book called Goldilocks and just the one bear - we have completed lots of book talk including considering where Goldilocks is NOW and is she still up to mischief?

We have completed our assessments in Science this week and reflected on what we have learnt about plants and trees,  The children recalled some fabulous information using super vocubulary.  Well done children!
