29.11.2020 - Blakemere's Blog

Date: 29th Nov 2020 @ 10:21am

What another busy week we have had in Blakemere. We have explored a little more of our text, The Water Tower, and write a diary entry as if we were one of the main characters. Our challenge was to use more effective vocabulary and precise word choices. We have also looked at two of the characters in more detail to help us to write a character description about them next week.

Maths has focused on fractions and we have been finding equivalent fractions and simplifying them. We will continue to explore fractions further next week.

We have explored the significance and importance of The Silk Road as a historic and ancient trading route and labelled the route onto a map with key countries and cities.

Our work on light has allowed us to explore refraction. This is when light travels through another transparent material and bends and changes direction. Next week, we shall look into the work of Sir Issac Newton and the colour spectrum.

SECRET QUESTION - Tell me an equivalent fraction to 3/4.

Can I please remind you all the importance of reading at home. We should be reading at least 4 times a week and recording this in our reading diaries. This is checked every Monday.

In addition to this, you have spelling homework to complete, your login in to Times Table Rockstars and the number facts homework on our homework page.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
