30.11.18 Anti Bullying Week
Date: 30th Nov 2018 @ 11:08am
This week has been Anti - Bullying Week across the school and the children have been exploring the key message of Choose Respect making beautiful links with our No Outsiders work. The key message is to help children to understand the importance of showing kindness and respect for one another regardless of their age, sexual orientation, sex, race, religion or belief, gender reassignment or disability. Mrs Snowdon delivered a fabulous assembly promoting this on Tuesday sharing the Choose Respect message. See the Head teacher’s blog for further information.
Each class chose a book to share and discuss Choose Respect. Here are a few of the titles that were explored.
Blue Chamaeleon – “This chameleon can turn into anything and appear to fit in anywhere, but it seems that neither the swirly snail, the green grasshopper nor the stripy sock want to be friends. Will the chameleon ever find someone to talk to?”
Red – “A blue crayon mistakenly labelled as "red" suffers an identity crisis in this picture book by Michael Hall, It is about being true to your inner self and following your own path despite obstacles that may come your way.”
The squirrels who squabbled – “two greedy squirrels learn to share. Greedy squirrels Cyril and Bruce both have their sights on a very special prize: THE VERY LAST NUT OF THE SEASON! As the nut bounces crazily though the forest, the squirrels race after it. Working together might be the only way to save themselves now.”
I hate Roland Roberts – “Horrible, girl-hating Roland Roberts is assigned to look after Rosie at her new school. She pours out her heart in a letter to Grandad - but then it seems that Roland may not be so bad, after all.”
Also this week each class is exploring the school S.T.O.P and T.H.I.N.K campaigns.
