9.2.17 Sandymere Learning Update
Date: 9th Feb 2017 @ 2:07pm
What a week! We've have gone to town on our writing and we can now say that all our work is written and proudly displayed in the hall awaiting your response after school today at the Writing Exhibition.
I can honestly say that you are going to be bowled over by the quality of writing ftom your children. Well done Sandymere class!
In other areas we have been working in the seasons in maths and looking at how chronology is important for ordering such as days of the week, months of the year etc. In addition to this we have reinforced our mental maths skills in basic number too. Mrs Jones has begun a new maths topic today of learning to tell the time to 0’clock and the children have been discovering the clock face.
Mrs Smith has been working the children hard on the apparatus and they are really making the most of the equipment. Some excellent landing, stretching and balancing all round.
We’ve had fun exploring our phonic skills using the Learnpads and also thoroughly enjoyed naming our aliens using different combinations of graphemes to create alien words such as Gloong, Spront and Bloust! Perhaps you can try this at home with your child too. Do send in your alien names and we will use them as part of our display.
We have begun to look at the next set of letters for handwriting and are now focussing on n and m. You may have seen a practise sheet in your child’s book bag. Remember, practise makes perfect!
See you on Monday
