Blakemere Class - 11.09.20

Date: 11th Sep 2020 @ 8:39pm

What a productive week we have had! It has been fantastic to see all of the Blakemere children working so hard this week!

To start off the week, we enjoyed our cricket lesson on Monday afternoon. We look forward to our next session on Monday.

We have started reading the text 'Of Thee I Sing' in our English lessons and have enjoyed making predictions about the text and writing complex sentences. Next week in English, we will move on to look at different types of sentences, and relative clauses.

In Maths, we have begun our unit of work based on place value. Next week we will continue with this and we will be recapping our knowledge of negative numbers and Roman numerals.

We have looked at an overview of the early civilisations in History, and next week we will move on to looking at and creating a world History timeline.

Today the children enjoyed completing a scientific experiment based on materials and their properties/ uses. It was great to see the children working hard to find out the properties of the different everyday materials.

In RE, we have begun our unit of work on 'Humanism' and have created some more beautiful display work based on this.

Please remember to bring your PE kits in on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Please also don't forget your reading book and record on Monday morning!

As discussed with the children in class, our weekly spelling homework will now be under the 'Homework' tab on the Blakemere Class page each week, rather than sending paper copies home.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Take care,

Miss Hartley
