Blakemere Class - 30.04.20
Date: 30th Apr 2020 @ 5:39pm
Good afternoon Blakemere!
I hope you have had a nice week, and that you are continuing to keep safe at home.
Here are some new learning ideas for you to try at home. I have also added them to the Blakemere Page - Home Learning tab.
The first is a PE resource attached below, full of active ideas to try at home - PE KS2 Active Fusion Pack.
Secondly, attached is a Road Safety worksheet which you make wish to take a look at.
Why not try some 'arty maths' - see activity sheet below.
You could write a newspaper article, about the recent incredible achievements of Captain Tom Moore! I have attached a newspaper article template below. When you are writing your article, think about the following features which you need to include in your writing:
- Make your headline short and snappy.
- In the first sentence sum up what the story is about.
- Write your report in the third person and the past tense.
- Split your report up into paragraphs to help the reader clearly understand the information.
- If you use quotes to make your report more interesting, don't forget to use speech marks!
- Use a photo with a caption to give the reader more information.
- Fill your newspaper report with both facts and opinions. Use the 5 W's - Who, What, Where, When and Why!
If you are looking for recommendations of books to read, visit the www.booksfortopics.com website which offers a series of posters that link other books you might like to read, if you like a certain author or style.
On a final note, tomorrow, Friday 1st May, is Pyjamarama Day! Book Trust are delivering a day of activities and events to celebrate reading and bedtime stories. The online festival has one requirement - wear pyjamas! Check out their website, from 9.30am tomorrow morning. https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/pyjamarama
Please continue to take care and stay safe at home.
