Blakemere's Blog - 06.03.2020

Date: 7th Mar 2020 @ 3:06pm

We have had another busy week in Blakemere. In English we have continued to focus upon our class book 'King Kong'. We have used adverbials, active and passive voice, and expanded noun phrases in our writing. Next week we will be descirbing the island, King Kong's cave and King Kong.

In Maths, we have started looking at ratio and proportion. I am very impressed by the children's knowledge of ratio and proportion!

In Geography we have looked at weather patterns and climate zones. In computing we started to use Excel to input data into spreadsheets on the learn pads.

For our RE lesson this week, we were delighted to welcome George to Blakemere, to teach a lesson based on our class Christian value of Hope. We looked at Christian hope involving being life after death, Christian hopen being based on Jesus' power over death, and the assuracne of hope that comes from Jesus' resurrection. George read us the story of Lazarus from the Bible, and it was very interesting to see how hope is presented in the story.

To celebrate World Book Day this week, we have spent some time reading a book of our choice for pleasure. We have also discussed our favourite books, and why they are our favourites. We have discussed the main characters in the books, and who might like to read the books that we enjoy reading.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hartley
