Blakemere's Blog - 24.01.2020

Date: 25th Jan 2020 @ 1:22pm

This week has been another busy, productive week in Blakemere! In English we planned, wrote and edited an information booklet based on tigers, including all of our mastery keys. Next week we are looking forward to moving on to our new text 'King Kong'.

In Maths, we have started work on decimals - looking at the value of each digit in numbers given up to 3 decimal places. Next week we will be focusing upon multiplying and dividing decimal numbers.

In Science this week we have begun our new unit of work based on properties and changes of materials. We enjoyed our lesson based on dissolving, and looking at what happens when we add sugar, salt, sand and baking powder to water.

We have also enjoyed our second session of tag rugby outdoors and look forward to our session next week! In topic we have created a timeline of World History and begun to look at a time-line of events in the Shang Dynasty of Ancient China. We have also looked further into our key question in RE - whether science disproves Genesis.  In art we have enjoyed using a horizon line to draw a city in China.

SECRET MESSAGE – What is 69.413 x 100?

Have a great weekend,
