Good morning!

What a lovely morning it is! It is so gorgeous to see the sun shining for a change.  Definitely a day to try and go outside and get some fresh air - good for the mind and your personal wellbeing.

Speaking of wellbeing - what an amazing day we had on Wednesday.  This week is Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing week and it goes without saying that this something we all would benefit from focussing on right now; not just our children's mental health but the adults too.  We hope that you've enjoyed the daily slides enabling your children to talk about their confidence, ambitions and thoughts but the highlight has to be Wednesday's screenless day. A day to 'express yourselves' and do something different, inspiring and fun.  We have received many wonderful emails and photographs from the home teams and it really shows what an amazing time you have all had.  Ranging from gymnastics to den building, from baking to cartoon strips - you seem to have done it all.  We have loved looking at your photography challenge images (some budding photographers there!) and your scavenger hunt rainbows.  It has certainly helped our mental health and wellbeing as each email and photograph has brought a smile to our faces too. Mrs Worstencroft will be sharing some of your contributions in her fantastic Friday blog.

In school we explored dragons through art and had a go at sketching and creating dragons then built them using recycled materials.  Some children decided to create owls too! There was plenty of opportunity to share and chat about our creations and thnk about how working creatively relaxed our minds.  We had a lovely day and the children were so proud of their models. A massive well done to everyone!

The biggest highlight had to be the 'Bring your pets to school' live session on Wednesday.  What an absolute joy and pleasure it was to meet all your animals.  We saw snakes, rabbits, cats and dogs.  In fact we saw one of the most chiilled out dogs I think I've ever seen!  It was simply gorgeous to hear you talk so lovingly about your pets.  We even heard about one that was too big to join the live because it lived in the field! Yes, you guessed it - it was a horse.  Thank  goodness that one stayed outdoors as it could've got messy!

Also this week we have seen huge steps in the right direction using numberlines for subtraction - well done for perservering with this as I know some of you found this quite tricky at times.  Top job!

In English we have revealed our latest focus text The Dragon Machine.  Once, again please resist the temptation to read this book through as we will be looking at it in stages and completing lots of prediction and inference work on the book.

A few parents have let us know that the Monster Phonics slides aren't interacting as well as they used to.  Mrs Worstencroft and I have been trying to find a solution but it seems to vary according to the device being used.  With this in mind, we will try record Loom videos of the phonics in the coming weeks.  (Although not all phonics sessions will need a Loom video.)

This week saw the start of our 1 to 1 reading sessions.  Mrs Worstencroft sent invites to a small group this week and I shall be doing the same next week.  Keep your eyes open for the Teams invite.

All that's left to say is a massive thank you to each and every one of you.  You are all shining stars and should be very proud of what you are achieving.

See you all next week.

Team Delamere.
