Delamere Update 13th May 2016

We have come to the end of another busy week in Delamere. What a lot of work we have done!

This week we have started our new Topic called Heroes. Take a look at the topic web on our class page and the topic work page.

In English we have begun a new book called Traction Man, a superhero who loves going on adventures. The children have been working hard to use the four different sentence types in their writing - statements, questions, commands and exclamations. We are looking forward to finding out where Traction Man goes next. 

The focus in Maths has been fractions. All that hard work learning times tables has been really helpful when we have been calculating fractions of an amount. The year three children have even been adding and subtracting fractions!

Today we learned about a real life hero called Florence Nightingale. We wrote about the changes she made to hospitals and have begun to make a timeline of her life events on the Learnpads. 

Have a good rest over the weekend ready for lots more hard work next week. 

Remember that year 2 have their SATs next week.
