Delamere's Weekly Blog - 1.7.2022

Another busy week full of so many fantastic achievements.

A particular highlight was the return of Sports Day! We were blessed with wonderful weather and every single competitor let their light shine beautifully. We saw resilience, team work, compassion and enthusiasm in abundance and it was a day to remember. Thank you to everyone who came to support us and for anyone who was not able to we have attached some photos. Well done Delamere, we are extremely proud of each and every one of you!

In English this week we have continued to explore the story ‘Tidy’ by Emily Gravett and we have now got our plans in place and are ready to write our own versions of the story next week. We have been so impressed with the ambitious word choices that we are now making, using words like scattering, aggressively, beautifully and using them to make some fabulous expanded noun phrases. We cannot wait to read your stories next week!

In Maths we have been having a recap of Multiplication, looking at how we can make equal groups and use arrays to show different calculations. The children have made real progress with this. Please don’t forget to access Times Table Rockstars and Numbots EVERY week. It is essential that the children keep up with these skills to make them confident Mathematicians, now, and as they move through the school.

In Science the children have been learning about a variety of habitats and why they are suitable for different plants and animals. It is lovely to see how engaged the children are with their Science work and Miss Matzen is really enjoying exploring this topic with them.

Our big WELL DONE for this week goes to our one TTRS winner KIZZY and our one Numbots winner ALYSSIA.

Next week is our school Enterprise week and we will be work as a team to create a business model, spend time creating a product, work on advertising our product and then get it ready for selling at the school fair which will take place at the end of the week, on Friday 8^th July. We hope to see lots of you there!
