Well that was a hot one! A massive well done to the children for keeping going and working hard to keep calm and cool in the very high temperatures.
In English this week we have been writing our own version of the story with fairies instead of dragons and we have been blown away by their efforts! We have had gorgeous expanded noun phrases, subordination galore and some beautiful handwriting. Keep going Delamere, you are rocking it!
In Maths this week we have been looking at finding three-quarters of a shape, group of objects and number. It is a tricky skill that really brings together all of our work on fractions. Great resillience was shown throughout.
In other areas of the curriculum we looked at and researched facts about Zambia including the currency, flag, population and religions in Geography, creating our own fact sheets and spent Thursday and Friday working on our DT project to design and make a fire engine with moving wheels and an axle. Thank you for all of the boxes that were sent in. We had a great two days and we think that you will agree that the children have done a fabulous job and their models look amazing!
Finally this week we also had our very first Dance-a-Thon which was great! We danced in the morning during Collective worship, then again in the MUGA during PE for half an hour then again in the afternoon with the whole school. The children loved it and all received a certificate with some children even getting a prize. Well done to Oliver, Olivia and Archie. Thank you so much for all of the sponsorship money that has been sent in. We are amazed at everyone's efforts!!
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Poppy and Reuben for their Numbots work and Poppy and Reuben for their TTRS work! Come on Delamere - let's see if we can have a full leaderboard before the end of the year!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to lots more fun and learning next week.
