Delamere's Weekly Blog - 2.5.2025
Date: 2nd May 2025 @ 4:41pm
What a beautiful, sunny week we have had, if not a little too hot at times. We have chatted lots about how we can keep safe in the sun and with regular drink breaks and lots of moments of calm we have made it. Let's hope the weather continues for the long weekend!
English this week was all about us writing our own diary entries and we have been amazed at how hard the children have worked to try and include our mastery keys. At the end of the week we focused on our proof reading skills, with a particular focus on our spellings and use of past tense. Great work Delamere!
In Maths we explored division and multiplication when using our two times tables. We talked about doubling and halving and looked at the link between the two. We then wrote addition sentences and multiplication sentences to represent doubles and division and multiplication sentences to show the inverse (our posh word for the opposite!) Super progress Delamere and there was some outstanding presentation this week too!
In other areas of the curriculum we have begun our new unit on Humanism in RE, discovered some of the reasons why the Great Fire spread so quickly in History, we learnt what an architect is and what they do, explored Hundertwasser's buildings and used our sketchbooks to record our initial observations in art and in PE we learned to dribble with a ball for football skills and developed throwing and catching skills for basketball.
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Poppy, Reuben and Izzy for their Numbots work and Poppy, Maxwell and Reuben for TTRS!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week when we return to school on Tuesday 6th May.
