Delamere's Weekly Blog - 27.06.25

Date: 27th Jun 2025 @ 4:50pm

Another busy week and time really does seem to be racing by in Delamere!

In English this week we all completed our own versions of The Dragon Machine and we have been really impressed with the children's efforts. We also edited our work looking closely for expanded noun phrases. Great work Delamere!

In Maths we began our Money unit and we have been blown away by the children's progress and understanding, particularly in a world that doesn't use cash very often. It is fantastic to see all of our Maths skills coming together, our addition and subtraction work, counting in steps of 2, 5, 10 and 20 and our place value work. It just shows how much the children have learnt this year because they have been confidently applying all of their skills to solve problems involving pounds and pence. We can't wait to see how they get on as we continue this next week.

In other areas of the curriculum we looked at animals found in Zambia and then researched hippos and produced fact files in Geography, looked at the emotion of Worry in PSHE and thought about when and why we worry and who we can talk to if we are worried, explored our Project Evolve session learning about safety when using computers and devices in Computing, found out about how Humanists believe the world began because of the Big Bang Theory in RE and recalled facts about the Great Fire of Nantwich in History. Wow, I feel tired just writing this. What a busy week!

Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Reuben, Poppy and Kalvin for their Numbots work and Reuben and Poppy for TTRS! Keep up the fantastic work you guys and everyone else ... you have 2 weeks to get on that leader board!

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
