Delamere's Weekly Blog - 30.6.2023

Well done to Delamere Class for another busy and productive week.

I am sure that you have heard that we had a special visitor this week, Peter the circus skills trainer. We had so much fun learning lots of new skills like juggling, balancing and even walking on a tight rope! Some of us were a little worried at first that we were doing things that we can’t do, but Peter very quickly taught us the phrase ’I can’t do it … YET!’ and it was so great to see the children persevering with things that they initially found a challenge.

Most of our week has been focused around our DT unit learning all about fire engines. We looked at the key features of a fire engine and then looked closely at wheels and axles. We experimented attaching wheels to axles in different ways, firstly with a fixed axle and then with an axle that rotates with the wheels. After lots of research and exploration we designed and made our own fire engine models and I think that you will agree they all did an amazing job! I think that there are definitely some future designers and engineers in our class. We were so proud of them that we headed down to Hatchmere to show them off. Well done Delamere. We are super proud of you all!

On Monday Mrs Worstencroft will be in class and then it will be Mrs Williamson for the rest of the week. Don’t forget to bring your PE kits in on Monday and Thursday and that it is hopefully the KS1 sports day on Wednesday 5th July.

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you for more fun and learning next week.
