Delamere's Weekly Blog - 4.11.22

Date: 6th Nov 2022 @ 5:46pm

What a busy week we have had in Delamere!

In English we have had lots of fun exploring the poem ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’ and experimenting with nonsense words. The children have even had a go at making their own version of the first verse with lots of very funny nonsense words being used. We had a good giggle as we performed them and we were so impressed with the confidence shown. Well done everyone!

In Maths we have focused on estimating the position of numbers on a number line and how we can partition numbers using a part whole model, using paper plates to physically move the parts around. Real improvement was seen this week and it was great to see the children looking closely at the links between different numbers.

In RE we have begun our Creation unit, and on Friday we looked at our wonderful world. We thought about how it is a gift from God and it is our job as Christians to look after it and that this role is called Stewardship. We pretended to phone Earth and tell it how we are going to look after it, turn the lights off when we aren’t using them, walk when we can, put our rubbish in the bin and recycle. Next week we will record these promises. Perhaps you can think of some other ways that we can look after our wonderful world.

We hope that you have a had fantastic weekend and look forward to more fun and learning in the week ahead.
