Delamere's Weekly Blog - 6.12.2024
Date: 6th Dec 2024 @ 3:46pm
As we reach the end of another busy week in Delamere class, we are so impressed by the children’s efforts in so many areas of learning.
English was a particular highlight with the children showing off their writing skills creating poems about fireworks. Lots of thoughtful word choices and beautiful handwriting made for some super final results! We have also begun to gather information about owls as we work towards our final piece of writing, a fact file about owls.
In Maths we have been working really hard on our addition skills, adding to the next ten and adding across ten. Once again our number bonds were the heroes as they helped us to work more efficiently.
In other areas of the curriculum we completed healthy eating in PSHCE and talked about unhealthy foods that contain too much sugar, salt and saturated fat thinking about the importance of balanced diets and how treats are fine but a balance is important. In geography we looked at recognising the continents by shape and then ordered them by size. We also looked at the difference between human and physical features then labelled these in an aerial view map. In PE we created an amazing dance as a class and performed it to Tina and I and we continued with hockey skills in games. In History we explored changes that happened during the reigns of each of the three queens, using videos and books as research tools and in RE we compared King Herod and Jesus the King.
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Kalvin, Archie, Eliza and Daneel for their achievements in Numbots.
As we get closer to the end of term please don’t forget to check Mrs Snowdon’s school blog to find out about upcoming events including the pantomime, Christmas Extravanganza and whole school carol service. Thank you to everyone who has been practising our class song 'Follow That Star' at home. Keep it up as it's starting to sound really good!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
