Delamere's Weekly Blog - 9.5.25
Date: 9th May 2025 @ 3:36pm
Another amazing week in Delamere with some great whole class and individual progress. This half term is flying by!
In English this week we have had a focus on grammar skills, looking at when we can use the words 'that' and 'when' in a variety of sentences and recapped on the use of possessive apostrophes. We are asking the children to include so many skills and features in their writing at this point in the year so it is always good to have another look and we have been really impressed.
In Maths this week we have been looking at the ten times tables and using them to solve multiplication and division problems. You can probably guess what I am going to say next ... Times Table Rock Stars!!! Please do access the game and remember you can help your child if they find it difficult at first but you will be amazed at how quickly they begin to recall those number facts on their own.
In other areas of the curriculum we completed the sketch book work by annotating our architecture observations with key vocabulary in Art, we looked at what a plant needs to stay healthy and then set up a test to find out the right conditions for seed growth in Science, we learned how to kick a ball using the side of our foot and then played football golf in PE, thought about achievements in our Humanism work and write our own plaque for the Great Fire of London explaining what happened and why it spread so quickly in History.
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Kalvin, Poppy and Oliver for their Numbots work and Poppy and Maxwell for their TTRS work! Come on Delamere - let's see if we can have a full leaderboard next week!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to a full week of fun and learning next week.
