Hatchmere 12th July

Date: 12th Jul 2020 @ 10:34pm

Hello Hatchmere.

We had a bit of a wet week here in school but we still managed to get outside and have a run around.  The children have been learning about how to make teen numbers and we have had number hunts in the outside classroom trying to find teen numbers and a big number line where they have to jump along the teen numbers by rolling the dice and naming the numbers.  Perhaps you could have a look at teen numbers and see if you can find any in your house.

Carrying on from our stories about giants we have been drawing, describing and writing about giants.  We have looked at the story Grandads Secret Giant to talk about differences and how we should always be kind.  There are some lovely readings of this story on YouTube  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uT88o-bjGc.

Mrs Teece brought in a kite on Friday and the children had great fun running up and down the field  to get it to fly.  Mrs Teece was very tired!

By now you should have all had your reports and I will be giving you a call this week to answer any questions you have.  Don't forget to come into school on Wednesday to pick up your childs books and belongings.

As we come into the last week of this year I can't help but feel a little bit sad that our time together was cut short but I am super proud of how well the children have all coped with this unprecedented situation.  Everybody I speak to is so positive and it is this positivity that will get us through the rest of the year.  I look forward to seeing you all in September when you are all big Sandymere children.

Stay safe and happy.

Mrs Kelly
