Hatchmere Remembers
Date: 11th Nov 2020 @ 11:23am
Today our children have been thinking about the soldiers that fought in war. We explored the meaning of the Poppy, why our brave soldiers fought for us and how important it is that we never forget their sacrifice. To help us to reflect on this learning the children have taken part in some related activities; We have created our own poppies from a variety of different materials and we have also painted poppies using recycled bottles to display within the classroom. At 11 o'clock the children all listened to The Last Post and stood in silent remembrance. It was clear to Mrs Kelly and I that the children were being truly reflective and respectful, we are so proud!
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
