Hello from tropical Hatchmere!
Well done to our 2 new Gold Reading Award badge winners and a Silver Reading Award bagde too! Fantastic effort!
The children have written their Supertato re-telling this week and I am so proud of them! They used their independence in work to gather the things they need to support their writing, they planned, wrote then re-read their work. Some children even edited when they spotted a mistake. Amazing stuff Hatchmere.
We have had so much fun with our maths learning this week. We have played Shape Bingo (some children have requested to take this home to play with their families), we been ordering some greedy caterpillars in size order (shortest to tallest) and showing off in our outside classroom with our knowledge of odds and evens.
Our creative area has been extremely busy the last few weeks as the children draw, use collage, create cards, junk model, write letters…the list goes on and on. Whilst the children are having so much fun they are using their social skills, spatial awareness, fine motor control, organisational skills, developing creative talent…again, the list goes on and on.
Today, Hatchmere have welcomed our new cohort of Hatchmerians. They were so kind and helpful to them. As I looked around, I saw children supporting play, building new friendships, sharing and just being the most gorgeous kids. It really was the biggest smiles all around.
Next week is extremely busy, we have Emily Ford (Bronze medal in Women’s eight rowing team at Paris Olympics) coming to talk to us, we have our school disco, paddling pool party, party games and leavers service! And believe it or not their will also be learning squeezed in there too. Phew...I'm tired just thinking of it.
This weekend is looking even hotter! Please take care of yourselves, lather on the sunscreen, wear your hats and drink plenty of water.
Is next week really the last week?
