Hatchmere's Class Blog 2.12.22

Date: 2nd Dec 2022 @ 3:12pm

How big is Hatchmere!?...we've been finding out this week.

We have explored length this week, using key words big, small, tall, short...adding suffixes -er and -est. We have measured ourselves against each other and ordered some coloured ribbons, the children have really enjoyed their maths challenges this week.

Designing and labelling our 'pinecone catching contraptions' to help our squabbling squirrels has been the task in Literacy this week. We have seen some fabulous handwriting and excellent designs. The children are clearly proud of their handwriting and we are very proud of them.

Our outside area is getting nearer to completion and we are all very excited to use our new all-weather equipment and space. As we will begin to spend more time outdoors please ensure your child has an appropriate winter coat, gloves, scarves and hats. All of these items must be named so that any lost item can find its way back to its owner.

Next week we will be introducing The Nativity and preparing the children for their performance at our Christmas Carol concert. The concert is a gorgeous oppurtunity for you to come and hear the whole school sing and guide you through the story of Christmas. Of course, Hatchmere children are the star of the show with their beautiful costumes on, depicting various characters in The Nativity story.

Please see below for next weeks planning.
