Hatchmere's Class Blog 2.5.25

Date: 2nd May 2025 @ 12:12pm

Hello Hatchmerians!

Congratulations to yet another Silver Reading Badge holder in Hatchmere! This means they have recorded at least 4 instances of reading for 25 weeks! 100 time AT LEAST. What a fantastic achievement.

Hatchmere have had an unusual visitor in their class week who went rooting around in the rubbish! We have no idea where our visitor came from and have been making ‘Found’ posters to display around the school.

In Drawing Club this week the children have read The Odd Egg by Emily Gravett. They have designed their own egg and the animal that has ‘emerged from it. We had lots of fun with this task.

Maths has been all about counting in different ways. Hatchmere have had to think about the best strategy to use when counting smaller and larger amounts. We have also learnt how to be careful with our counting as we played a game of Snakes and Ladders. The children all took turns to have a go. This promoted ordination, teamwork and communication skills.

You may have heard that a vet’s practice has opened within our classroom? We have lots of animals that need treatment and the children are enjoying developing their language in meaningful play as they take it in turn to be Vets, customers and the animals themselves.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend everyone, see you on Tuesday at 8.35am.
