Hatchmere's Class Blog 1.4.22

Date: 2nd Apr 2022 @ 4:40pm

These past 5 weeks have flown by and I’m sure you would agree that Hatchmere have achieved so much in that time!

Thank you to those adults that could join us on April 1st for our whole school Easter Service. It was a very special event that told us the story of Jesus’s sacrifice for us and the hope that he brought with him as he rose again. We were very proud of Hatchmere’s part in telling that story through their song ‘Jesus Loves Me’, they were fabulous. Ask the children about The Easter Story, they have learned all about last week and were even inspired to dressed up to act it out. There are some marvelous pictures for you to look at below.

In Literacy the children have been using their story maps to support them to re-tell the tale of The Bog Baby. Some children were confident enough to write 2 whole pages which is amazing. Mrs Snowdon and Mrs McLaughlin have been so impressed by their writing skills, they have given out awards and raffle tickets. Super work Hatchmerians!

This week our Mathematicians have been exploring odds and evens up to 10! They have discovered that odd numbers cannot be shared equally and that even numbers are doubles!! There is so much to explore within the numbers 1-10 and the children are always keen to experiment with them.

Please remember to read with your child at least 4 times a week throughout the Easter holidays so that they may continue to progress in their learning and move their reading stars up the reading ladder in our classroom. If reading continues your child will be able to move their star 3 times up the reading ladder when they return!

Hatchmere were very fortunate to have the Easter Bunny come and visit them. We hope they enjoyed their treats. Hatchmere also had lots of fun going on an egg hunt and making Easter cards for their families. We had a special treat from Mr Partington who came and read us a fatastic sequal to the story of The Hare and the Tortoise. The children were enthralled!

Have a wonderful Easter break, we hope the weather is kind and that everyone can get outside and enjoy some quality time together.  We will see you all on TUESDAY 19th April.
