Hatchmere's very special day 16.2.22

Date: 16th Feb 2022 @ 3:38pm

Today was a very special day for Hatchmere.

We dressed in our fanciest of clothes and went to Church to act out a wedding and a christening. George the Vicar was there to greet us and we were very lucky to see him in his robes, he was ready to show the children a full and realistic experience. Two couples got married and their wedding party included bridesmaids, grooms people and representatives. It was a magical moment, with a few tears from the ‘Teacher’s of the Class’ Mrs Kelly and Mrs Teece. After the ‘ceremony’ the children attended a christening. George gently guided the children with what to do and say and ‘Riley’ was welcomed, very lovingly, into God’s family. After that, it was back to the classroom to toast the happy couples and eat some wedding cake. To finish off a wonderful morning Mrs Teece and Mrs Kelly played their wedding songs for the children to have a ‘slow dance’ to and then we partied in true Hatchmere style!

I’m sure you can tell from the pictures below Hatchmere had an amazing time and were fully immersed in their learning. A day to remember for sure! Thank you for your support in dressing the children so beautifully, it really added to their experience.
