Hatchmere's World Book Day celebrations
Date: 5th Mar 2021 @ 3:26pm
As you all know, we celebrate books every single day in Hatchmere. They are a huge part of our learning and development. We read every day, we have stories read to us every day, we discuss what we have read every day, we make up our own stories every day and we share our reading experiences with others every day!
On Thursday, in recognition of WBD, we dressed up in our pyjamas or as our favourite book characters. Hatchmere at School and Hatchmere at Home really pulled out all of the stops and we had some great costumes. Hatchmere explored the story of The Runaway Pea: we had a pea rolling competition and wrote our own silly rhyming sentence. The children also made their own 'Reading Den' complete with twinkly lights to snuggle down in and enjoy a book. We had a fantastic day!
Finally, the time has come that we have all waited for for the last few months! On Monday Hatchmere will be all together once more. The excitement in the classroom this week has been very real with both adults and children taking part in a countdown and now the time is finally here. We cannot wait until Monday.
