Free School Dinner

Our free school dinner was hugely successful this lunchtime with our catering team serving 120 portions of chicken nuggets and chips – almost the entire school! If your child enjoyed their lunch and would like to continue with them in the future, they just need to order one in the mornings when their class teacher does the register. Further information on the cost and how to pay can be found below.

British Science Week and Self-Esteem Week

This week we have been having an extra focus on Science for British Science Week and following on from last week’s mental health support team assembly, we have also been looking at ways to boost our children’s self-esteem, resilience and confidence. Please do take a look at the class blogs as I am sure that you will find lots of interesting information as to what they children have been getting up to this week.

Leaping Lambs for St. Luke’s Hospice

Following on from our survey in the autumn term with regards to which local charities you would like us to support, next Friday our children will be taking part in a sponsored ‘Leaping Lambs’ event for St. Luke’s. Information with regards to this was shared with the children in assembly this morning, but please keep your eye out for information coming to you on Monday next week.

Sad News

Our love, thoughts and prayers are with the Howley/Hough family following the very sad loss of Zoe earlier this week. Many of you will know Zoe as a parent up until July last year when her youngest left Year 6, but also as our Kitchen Assistant and we know that she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Wake Up Wednesday

Every year, Comic Relief goes all out to help people, both in the UK and internationally, who are going through a tough time. In their area of specialism, National Online Safety are acutely aware that – for children and young people in particular – many of those difficult moments increasingly originate from and unfold in the digital world.

From inappropriate content to the toxic behaviour of others, online harms can do long-lasting damage. That’s why they’re passionate about helping this new generation to build their digital resilience – equipping them to deal with digital dangers. This week’s #WakeUpWednesday guide has a selection of tips for encouraging safe and healthy online habits.

In this guide, you’ll find a list of useful suggestions which could help you and your family strike the right balance and build digital resilience.

Easter Pantomime

Anton Benson Productions, who stage our annual Christmas Pantomime, are holding a special Easter production next weekend. Rapunzel will be playing at Northwich Memorial Court on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March with a star studded line-up: Northwich favourite Kerry Katona, Eastenders’ Dean Gaffney, Strictly Come Dancing champion Joanne Clifton and Britain’s Got Talent 2022 runners up Jamie and Chuck as well as Northwich panto legend Ryan Greaves!

If you would like to visit the pantomime, they are offering parents £1 off the cost of every ticket. To receive the discount all you have to do is enter the code EASTER23 when prompted when purchasing the tickets from www.brioentertainment.org

School Dinners

School dinners cost £2.45 per day, £12.25 per week. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive free meals as part of the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme.  Dinner money must be paid in advance via School Spider as we do not accept cash in school.

If you are in receipt of benefits and think that you may be entitled to free school meals, please click here for more information and support and how to apply. It is very important to apply for free schools meals whatever year your child is in, even if you receive the UIFSM in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, as the school receives a sum of extra money to further help support your child and their education.

Absence during Term Time

Please may I remind you that schools are not allowed to authorise pupil holidays in term time. Any child going on holiday in term time will receive an unauthorised absence. Our registers are regularly checked by the Education Welfare Service and parents may be issued with a fine from the Local Authority for unauthorised absence, which is currently £60 per child, per parent and this rises to £120 if paid after 21 days but within 28 days.
