Hello Sandymere Superstars!
We hope that you are all well and have had a lovely weekend. We seem to be seeing all sorts of weather at the moment! From pouring rain to bright sunshine. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some drier weather this week, although when it is wet outside it does give us an excuse to stay cosy and do inside activities like snuggle with a good book or play a board or card game with our families. A favourite in our house at the moment is Happy Families.
When we did get outside my daughter Annie got very excited about designing and making a Bug Hotel for our garden. She spent a lot of time designing her hotel, collecting the materials and finally building it. We had lots of fun and are very pleased with the final results. We have even seen some bugs checking themselves in for a holiday! This is something that Mrs Williamson and her family did early on during Lockdown and their Bug Hotel looks like it is now fully booked!! I wonder if it has any reviews on Trip Advisor. Maybe you could design and build your own Bug Hotel too. There are lots of examples online for some more inspiration.
This week we were very lucky to watch a very special virtual assembly led by The Duchess of Cambridge all about kindness. It is still available to watch on the Oak National Academy website. I have attached a picture below of a Draw with Rob that Annie did last week that fits in very nicely. Maybe you could follow the link below and have a go yourself.

We hope that you are all managing to find lots of interesting activities on the school Home Learning page. On the Oak National Academy website, there is a new unit of work on information texts which looks interesting. It is the first of 5 sessions that build up towards you creating your very own creature and writing an information text about it. For anyone who does do this, we would love to see some pictures of your work.
Have a super week. Please don't hesitate to contact the school if there is anything that you need support with.
Keep safe, keep smiling and we will see you soon.
