Hello Sandymere - Week 3!

Date: 6th Apr 2020 @ 2:49pm

Hello everyone!

We hope that you are all continuing to keep busy and finding things to do both indoors and outdoors.  Max and Erin have been keeping busy by developing a range of skills around the home including gardening (I don't think they want to see anymore weeds in a hurry!) and cooking and baking.  So far we have enjoyed macaroni cheese, lasagne, hot dogs and pasta (!) and a whole host of sweet treats including millionaire’s shortbread and a lovely Victoria sponge.  This week we are being inspired by Jamie Oliver and making our own bread and pizza dough.  If you fancy doing a little cooking or baking then try these websites for a few ideas.  We made a pledge of only using what we had in the cupboards and freezer already.

or perhaps try the Ready, Steady, Cook challenge and try and make something out of just three items from your fridge/cupboards. That's how we ended up with hot dogs and pasta - it was actually quite tasty! If you do head to the kitchen make sure you have an adult supervising you at all times.

If you do go out into the garden don't forget the treasure hunts that were added to our page last week.  Try a mini beast hunt or even bird watching - although Mr Williamson tells me that it should be bird listening' and that we should listen out for different bird songs first.  This link has further information to get you started

If you want to sit down and try out some learning activities indoors then check out the poetry packs added below.

Alternatively if you’d prefer there is always plenty of arts of crafts that you could complete using things from around your house. Perhaps you could thread empty toilet/kitchen rolls onto string or ribbon, decorate them and make a Easter wreath for your door or look at the file below for more inspirations.

Don’t forget to log on to the Out of the Ark free songs pack https://www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home/        Week 3 has just been launched.

Keep your eye on Mrs Snowdon’s blogs too for more ideas and updates.

Whatever you choose to do – stay safe and have fun!
