This week in Linmere, we have continued our work on fractions. We have looked at adding and subtracting fractions.  The year 5s have also looked at converting fractions with common denominators.

In literacy, we looked at producing speech sandwiches. The children have put themselves into the shoes of a villager on a tropical island and a village chief running this island. By being these people, they have been able to produce passages of text speech.

In topic, we started our clay artwork. We produced clay pots and plan to decorate them like Indus valley clay work.  We also continued our work on rivers and we have started to learn and label the features of a river.
