Linmere's Career and Enterprise Project 16.12.2018

On Thursday and Friday, Linmere focused on a Careers and Enterprise Project to learn all about careers in the chemical industry. 

We discussed what we already knew and what we would like to know about the industry. We also talked about employers in the local area such as Compass Minerals in Winsford and Tata Chemicals in Northwich and Middlewich.

In partners, we focused on a variety of professions within the industry, ranging from chemist to nanotechnologist. As a class, we then wrote a description of each career, the salary, qualifications, skills and knowledge required, day to day tasks and the working environment.

Next, we completed a personal skills jigsaw and discussed which skills we thought were more important to possess in each career. We then filled in our employability skills passports, focusing on the valuable personal skills we had shown and subsequently developed during the project.

The children thoroughly enjoyed having this opportunity to think about their future careers!
