Linmere's Class Blog and World Book Day 07.05.2025
Date: 9th Mar 2025 @ 2:13pm
What a great week we have had in Linmere.
We all enjoyed World Book Day and were dazzled by the sparkly, space themed outfits. We started the day with pass the parcel to reveal our book of the day - Spaced Out, Space poems chosen by Brian Moses and James Carter. The class performed some of these poems and as a class wrote their own space poem. Thank you to our Reading Champions Brooke, Connie and Keiya for planning the afterschool activities too, thank you to everyone who attended this fun event.
In English we are reading Malala’s Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai. This week, we have written a character description of Malala, using conjunctions and fronted adverbials in our writing.
In Maths we’ve been learning how to add and subtract fractions.
In Science we’ve started our new topic of forces, looking at the different types of forces and the direction of these forces.
We’ve finally completed our still life art work, creating our own version of Andy Warhol’s, Campbells Soup Cans.
Well done to Adelaide for winning the raffle prize.
Congratulations to Oscar and Alice for achieving their bronze reading award - reading 4 times a week for 10 weeks. Next week we can start to give out silver reading awards, for reading 4 times a week for 25 weeks.
Reminder that spellings are on Monday. PE is on a Monday and Thursday, so please bring in your kit, which is suitable for outdoor lessons.
Enjoy the sunshine and have a lovely week!
