NATIONAL SCHOOL SPORTS WEEK - TRI GOLF

Date: 21st Jun 2016 @ 8:39pm

You would think that TRI GOLF consisted of three golf games for our children to tackle. However, that was not the case as on this occasion there were eight different challenges to be met! As you can imagine, the morning was very hectic as there were 22 schools competing at the same time and there were 10 children in each team. Thank goodness the weather was kind to us.

Our team, consisting of 5 girls and 5 boys, were very competitive right from the start and were cheering each other on all the time. The challenges mainly focussed on putting and chipping skills with points awarded for precision and accuracy. Each game lasted for five minutes so the children were racing against the clock which sometimes meant our golf swings went astray but we kept our heads up and kept on going!

When the final positions were announced, it was very exciting as they read out all the schools leaving the final three placings. At that point we realised we were in with a chance of winning as our name had not been called out. Over St. John's were called out in second place with the winners spoils going to Charles Darwin School in Northwich. Congratulations to them on their victory. We all had a fantastic morning and were really thrilled that we came second out of so many teams.

Well done Over St. John's!
