National School Sports Week - Year 3/4 Football

We were lucky enough to take two teams to Wharton Primary School this morning for a great morning of football. Both of our teams were very excited and keen to get started. Our dark blue team started proceedings against Grange Primary School and we were happy after a very closely fought match to come out with a 1-0 victory with Ben H scoring our only goal.  Surprisingly, this team were called again to play another match against Wharton A team. Despite repeated attacking from our players, we were just not lucky enough to score. Then, as usually happens in these circumstances, a quick breakaway brought a goal for Wharton.

Our light blue team played three matches and had a wonderful time enjoying learning the game. Finlay was our goalie and made some outstanding saves. Our defence tried to hold firm and kept smiling despite a 5-0 roasting from Willow Wood. Corey made some sterling tackles and was solid in defence.

By the end of the morning , we were not too sad when we did not get through to the finals as the sun was beating down and we were all very hungry and ready to have our lunch back at school!
