NSSW Year 4/5/6 Girls' Rugby

Two very excited teams of six girls went to The Academy to play in a Tag Rugby Tournament. Hardly any of the girls had played before but that didn't matter, all were keen and ready to do their best for OSJ!

On arrival, we all realised that the other teams were the same, full of inexperienced players, so it was decided that the afternoon would be 'fun', with lots of games and teaching along the way. Needless to say, I still kept the scores and overall, we were probably the best school (but I am biased!).

The girls had a wonderful afternoon and played their hearts out. I was proud of each and every one of them. The most difficult game to watch was when OSJ 1 played OSJ 2. It was very tense, with OSJ 2 coming out the eventual winners with tries from  Darcy and Jorja. Grace was the scorer for the losing side with a magnificent run.

Girls - be very proud - by the end of the afternoon, both teams looked in control and were starting to know where to be on the pitch at any given time. Congratulations to our captains, Heidi and Darcey, They led their teams with strength and determination. Well done to all.
