Wow! I can’t quite believe that it is already July, where has this year gone? Following on from national school sports week we continued with a sporting theme in maths. We used stopwatches to time partners jumping and skipping and used measuring tapes to measure jumps. Once we had collected the data we then compared it and asked questions about it. We also looked at medals won in the Olympics and created graphs from the tables.  On Friday some of use designed our own Olympic parks and worked out co-ordinates for each venue whilst others read and wrote co-ordinates for various Olympic events.

In English we finished our Silence Seeker unit by writing a letter from the asylum seeker. This letter explained everything that the asylum seeker had been upto since he left New York. The children worked incredibly hard to include everything we had learnt during this unit – the present perfect tense, first and third person, use of apostrophes and of course all the correct punctuation.

Attached to this blog are some photos of the artwork we have completed over the last few weeks. We have been looking at drawing peppers using different materials and exploring shading. I think the children have done a great job!

For those of you watching the football tonight perhaps ask your child to sign the song we looked at last week to cheer the English team on.

Whatever you are doing this weekend we hope you enjoy it.

See you next week.
