Welcome back to this our final half term of this academic year.
What a fantastic first week back it has been. The sun has been shining all week and the children have returned full of energy and eager to learn.
This week we have been learning to tell the time in maths. We recapped learning on o’clock and half past before moving on to quarter past and quarter to which was a little trickier. We’ll be carrying on with our time activities next week so any chance you get to have a practice of this skill would be great.
We are continuing to look at Silence Seeker in English. At the end of the week the children took on the roles of two of the characters and produced some lovely role plays.
In science and art, we looked at portraits and then had a go at creating our own. Please visit the separate blog / gallery item to view the children’s Tudor portraits. We were completely blown away with how they turned out and the detail in their drawings- well done Oakmere.
A quick reminder that PE kits are needed on a Tuesday and Friday. Some children didn’t have theirs this week. Also reading books are changed on a Friday only, again there were quite several children with no reading book in school this week.
