Hello Oakmere!

How are you all?  Most of last week the sun was shining which gave us the perfect excuse to go at try some of the National School Sports Week challenges. In our little bubble we tried the sock put challenge, cool catcher and the swipe and swap challenge. We had lots of fun throwing socks and shouting out sequences whilst trying to catch a ball. Did you try any of the activities? Remember if you did send through your photos, videos or scores to the office and you’ll get a certificate for your efforts!

We have been sharing the story of Storm Whale in school this week which is all about a little boy who finds a whale washed up on the beach. Our writing this week focused on creating fact files about sea creatures as well as writing our own riddles and haikus about them. We also used the book as an inspiration for some silhouette art work and enjoyed following this online tutorial to draw a dolphin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou7NitF6gkU&list=PLnoO3k54vcBS0l0MUyEElG6J6H3bVNDiX

Perhaps you could have a go and send in your finished pieces. We’d love to see them.

Don’t forget if you’re looking for some fun reading activities to take part in then why not sign up for this year’s summer reading challenge – Mrs Riley mentioned this last week in her blog.

Well done to those of you using TTRockstars – it really is a great, fun way to help you with your times tables.

This week we will try to ring those of you not in school to see how you are you. We look forward to hearing all your news.

Take care, stay dry and safe and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.
