Oakmere Class Blog 11.7.25

Date: 11th Jul 2025 @ 4:30pm

Hi Oakmere

We have had a bit of a scorching end to the week.  We have tied our very best to keep cool but it has been a struggle.  Thank you to those parents who sent in hats and ice bottles.  Next week the weather isn’t quite so hot but it should be warm enough for our paddling pool party on Tuesday.  Please remember to send in a swimming costume or something you don’t mind getting soaked and a towel on Monday.  You may have noticed that I have sent the PE kits home today.  We will not be doing PE next week due to our Pool Party and Rocket walk.

Next week, in English we should finish off our diary entry and then be able to edit it.  The children will be focusing on the use of adverbs and including noun phrases.  In Math’s we are working on giving change correctly and recapping the times table.  In Science we are going to be exploring why some animals are at risk of extinction.  Hopefully we will manage to squeeze in a little bit of art working in the style of Quentin Blake. We finally finished our cushiond thanks to a bit of help from Mrs Monson and I think you'll agree its pretty impressive what the children have managed to make.

It’s always a busy week the last week as we try to finish off work and have a nice time with the children.  Next Friday we have the Leaver’s service at St John’s Church. A huge thank you for practising our class song at home. We sounded amazing when we practised it today. Please can you send in any library books or reading books you have at home.  We will be sending the children’s workbooks home on Thursday so please send in an extra bag or carrier bag in with your child on Thursday.

Congratulations to Thea for winning our raffle prize.  Our attendance was ok this week just not quite where we needed it at 95.20%.  Fingers crossed that next week will be better.

Have a great weekend

Mrs Kelly
