Oakmere Class Blog 7.5.24

Date: 6th May 2024 @ 10:12pm

Hello

I hope you have enjoyed your long weekend. It was nice to have some sunshine at last. This week in Oakmere the children will be researching the differences between Stone Aged life and modern times. We will be checking to make sure we are using the right tenses when we write and structure our sentences for information.

In Maths we are continuing our work on measuring and the children will be looking at how to measure the perimeter of simple 2d shapes.  The children will be learning the twelve times table and will be tested on Tuesday.  I will also be checking to see that the children have been going on TTRS three times a week. Those children who have been unable to do this at home will be given the opportunity to do so during the school day.

In Science we will be looking at how we use magnets in our daily life and the children will be given the opportunity to create a simple game using what they have learnt about magnets. Last week the children made simple compasses and used them to navigate around the playground. Please see the attached photographs. In History we are going to be exploring the move away from hunter/gathering society to an agriculture one and how this impacted on our history. In RE we will be looking at the core beliefs of Sikhism and how they are integrated into everyday life.

Have a great week.
