Oakmere's Friday News

Date: 16th Sep 2022 @ 3:46pm

Good afternoon,

This week we have done:

-Literacy. We found out our book is the Minpins by Roald Dahl and we started reading it... it sounds very mysterious! Today, the children created their own monster and wrote some lovely descriptions of them.

-Maths. We have carried on exploring numbers and today brought some partitioning in different ways.

-Science brought an investigation! The police has asked for our help in solving a crime - we shall carry on working on it over the next few weeks.

-PE. We practised our underarm throws and carried on with dancing.

-RE. We are starting to find out more about the Baha'i faith.

Your child will have brought home their reading record and a book this week. It is part of their homework and we expect them to read at least 4 times a week. We check their record every week and the children get rewarded for the reading they do at home so please make sure you read with them.

Please remember that PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays and the children need a PE kit in school on those days. As long as the rain holds off, Fridays sessions will be outside so as the Autumn sets in, can you make sure your child has the correct kit. Thank you.

Next week will be a shorter week as Monday is a Bank Holiday due to Her Majesty's Funeral so we will be back open on Tuesday.
